The Port Macquarie Great Southern Bioblitz was small but an increase on 2021. This year the Port Macquarie project had 107 observations with 71 different species being observed by just 11 observers. Thank you to 54 observers who identified the various species. iMerinet had the most observations in the area with 57 observations and 18 species. jnrClawrie, a regular observer in the area saw 16 species. Welcome to Tedgiblin and Fionajb 2 new observers. The Nature School in Port Macquarie conducted their own bioblitz with year 3 and 4 on the Thursday which found 15 species in a 30minute period at Shelly Beach. In 2023 the Port Macquarie Rotary is planning a local Marine Bioblitz and they are hoping to create some more local interest for this wonderful project. Regards Meridith
