About the event

Springfield Lakes Nature Care (SLNC) are leading a guided bird walk with Peter Gelding, around Swanbank Lagoon. This location has had over 150 species of birds recorded on Ebird. We're hoping to get lots of birds photographed so you can upload them into Inaturalist Ipswich Project folderas part of the #GreatSouthernBioblitz.

You will need to download the Free iNaturalist app from Google Play Store & join the Great Southern Bioblitz Ipswich project folder click here to join. This will enable you to upload the photos you have taken of native flora, fauna & birds to the project folder.

We will meet in the car park near the BBQ Picnic area at 7.30am sharp to sign in before we commence the walk.

We are sure to see a wide variety of aquatic birds, such as cormorants, egrets & ducks. bring your smartphone along to the bird walk, so we can provide you with some hands-on tips on how to upload close up images of flora or fauna directly from your smartphone.

Please bring a water bottle & a pair of binoculars if you have them. A light morning tea will be provided after the walk. SLNC is giving away copies of Free Bird Walks of Greater Springfield to each participant or family. We will also have Birds of SE Qld books for sale for $15.

You can also get tickets to attend our 3 other hands-one events during the four day Bioblitz #GreatSouthernBioBlitz 28-30 October. Please visit our Facebook page click on the link below.
