About the event
Join us at CREEC for a bug workshop, followed by a guided walk as part of the Great Southern BioBlitz.
Bugs Ed will run the workshop to undercover the world of invertebrates. After learning all about insects, we will head out on a guided walk recording our observations together and will give you all the tips you need to go on and survey your local park, reserve or backyard.
It is a great family activity and the perfect way to appreciate our beautiful natural areas of Moreton Bay.
Great Southern BioBlitz
Great Southern BioBlitz is an annual citizen scientist project that records a snapshot of our local biodiversity. This year it will be held from 24 to 27 November.
Use the free iNaturalist App to upload photos of plants, fungi, and animals you uncover across the weekend. As a member of the international iNaturalist community, you will receive help identifying the species you have observed and can also help others.
Last year over 760 observations and 402 different species were recorded. This year we are hoping we will reach over 1,500 observations for our local government area. This is a great way to record and showcase the unique biodiversity of our area.
