About the event
The Great Southern Bioblitz (GSB) is an international period of intense biological surveying and aims to encourage people to engage with nature and record all the living things within designated areas.
The GSB runs between the 28-31 October. Participants make observations through iNaturalist which is linked to the Atlas of Living Australia.
Our observations will contribute to the The Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary umbrella project which covers the Nangak Tamboree corridor of La Trobe University, Darebin Creek Corridor and surrounding bushland reserves in Darebin and Banyule.
The Botany Society will be running a bioblitz of the Banyule Grassland reserve near La Trobe University on Sunday 30th Oct 10 - 12 pm.
Sunday 30th:
- 10 am meet at the Banyule Grassland Reserve sign on the eastern side of the foot bridge over the Darebin Creek here: https://goo.gl/maps/BFVB5MpFp8ATaa1z5
- We'll meander through the grassland and make observations of everything we can find!
- Bring your phone with iNaturalist downloaded (or a camera)
