The GSB is an international event aimed at recording as many living species as possible in spring. Whether you're a seasoned biologist or simply love nature, your observations can contribute to this massive citizen science effort. 🌍
🔍 Looking Back at GSB 2023:
A Tremendous Success for #CitizenScience! Last year, the GSB recorded 234,158 observations across 26,972 species.
New Discoveries: Over 160 species were recorded for the first time on iNaturalist, including rare and endangered species.
Global Impact: With 5,631 identifiers and 7,928 observers from 214 areas in 31 countries, GSB 2023 showcased the power of global collaboration.
Biodiversity Highlight: South America recorded the highest amphibian biodiversity ever documented, a testament to the rich natural heritage of the Southern Hemisphere.
Let’s make 2024 even bigger! You can upload your observations to iNaturalist until October 7th, 2024. Together, we can highlight the immense biodiversity of our region and contribute to environmental preservation.
