Great Southern Bioblitz 2026: City of Whittlesea

Welcome to the Great Southern Bioblitz 2026: Whittlesea!

The City of Whittlesea community first joined the Great Southern Bioblitz in 2021, and 2026 will mark their 6th consecutive year contributing to the largest coordinated nature survey across the Southern Hemisphere. Each year, local participants help build an increasingly rich picture of the region’s biodiversity, one photo at a time. You never know what you’ll find, sometimes a closer look changes everything

All you need to do is explore your local area, take photos of plants, animals, and fungi, and upload your observations. Every record supports biodiversity research, conservation planning, and community-led environmental knowledge.
